Reported speech is always in past.
- Is = was
- Are = were
- Has = had
- Have = had
- Will = would
- Shall = should
- Can = could
- Do / does = did
- Today = that day
- Tonight = that night
- Yesterday = the previous day
- Tomorrow = the next day
- This = that
- How = then
REPORTED SPEECH IS MOSTLY CONVERTED INTO THIRD PERSON
- When the speaker asks a question [ connector - If or whether]
- When the speaker speaks a sentence [ connector - that ]
- When the speaker gives a command or request [ connector - to ]
- When speaker ask a question “Wh question”[ connector - NO CONNECTOR]
